Highlights from the BLC Directors Roundtable discussion on how companies and boards are rethinking workforce well-being.

The unprecedented events of 2020 and their continuing impact on workers—from the strains of the COVID-19 work environment to social unrest and increased acknowledgement of system racism and the economic recession—have sharpened the focus on how companies treat their employees, propelling workforce well-being to the top of corporate agendas.

To understand how companies and boards are rethinking workforce well-being to help drive strategy and long-term performance in a postpandemic world, the KPMG Board Leadership Center held a virtual panel discussion, hosted by BLC leader John Rodi and moderated by Lisa Massman, principal with KPMG Human Capital Advisory Services, with Anne Sheehan, director of L Brands, and Donna Morris, chief people officer for Walmart.
